the trip to Seattle with the siblings was very much a success. There was a healthy mix of seeing the sites, visiting the fam, and cooking General Tso chicken (tasty!). The weather was, predictably, overcast with an omnipresent drizzle. They tell me that there are mountains surrounding the city; I cannot testify to this fact myself, having seen only the misty foothills.
Quote of the trip? (prompted by our prejedice toward Seattle's Best Coffee and against Starbucks) "we scoffed at every Starbucks we passed; at the end of the day, our throats were sore."
A good time, but we were glad to get back to the Texas sunshine (some of us are solar powered!)
